Professional Teeth Cleaning
Unfortunately, brushing your teeth twice a day isoften not enough. Certain deposits on the teethsimply cannot be removed by normal oral hygiene. This often leaves soft or even hard deposits on the teeth.
Professional teeth cleaning (PZR) helps to keep teeth healthy. It helps to prevent the two most common diseases in the oral cavity. Caries (tooth decay) and periodontitis (inflammation of the gums, root and bone).
What can we do for you?
During your routine check-up, the oral mucosa, teeth and gums are checked. During this we examine your oral health and the hygiene status. The various findings will help us to assess your risk of caries and periodontitis.
The risk is high, for example, if an inflammation is detected with a special probe or if caries treatment has already been carried out frequently.
What can you expect?
By default, we calculate 45-60 minutes for your PZR. Depending on the results of your examination, the first thing we will do is remove all soft plaque and hard plaque (tartar / discoloration).
We use machine instruments such as ultrasound or powder jet as well as hand instruments.
Then the teeth are polished to prevent the build-up of new plaque.
At the end a sealing with a fluoride gel is applied. Fluoride promotes the storage of minerals lost by caries bacteria. This makes the tooth enamel more resistant and the teeth are protected.
Within the scope of professional dental cleaning, you will also receive useful tips on how to clean and care for your teeth and gums at home. Depending on your risk of disease, you will be advised individually how often you should come to the dental cleaning.
With the professional cleaning and optimal oral hygiene, your teeth can remain healthy until old age. The risk of caries and periodontitis can be controlled and reduced.
