Implants
When teeth are lost, modern dental implants offer the possibility to replace them without integrating the neighbouring teeth. For this purpose the tooth root is replaced by an implant in the bone. This implant grows firmly into the bone.
The implant is restored with a so-called abutment. The later crown is fixed on this abutment and thus serves as a connecting part between the implant and the denture.
For aesthetic reconstructions, abutments and crowns can be made of ceramic.
What can you expect?
Dental implants can be used in almost all patients. The type of restoration or the effort required can vary greatly from case to case due to the individual situation. An important role is played by how many teeth have to be replaced and whether there is enough bone. If not, special measures can be taken to prepare the implantation.
